Men's Wrestling Tunes Up for Conferences
The Muhlenberg men's wrestling team tuned up for next Saturday's Centennial Conference Championships by sending eight competitors to the Messiah Open.
Juniors Trey Miletics and Ryan Fairchild both won all their bouts before forfeiting out of the tournament. Miletics went 2-0 at 165, pinning his first opponent in just 10 seconds before recording a technical fall.
Fairchild was 3-0 with a pair of first-period pins and a second-period technical fall at 184. He is now 13-3 on the season with 7 pins.
Miletics, Fairchild and senior Brian McCaw (125) all placed sixth in their brackets, with McCaw going 2-1 with his eighth career technical fall.
Junior Ben Krauss and senior Andrew Franklin both split a pair of matches at heavyweight. Franklin (pictured above) pinned his first opponent early in the second period before falling in a close 5-1 match to a former Utah state champion who now wrestles at Penn State.
