Track and Field Adds Five Medals

The Muhlenberg track and field teams won five medals on the second and final day of the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships.

The Muhlenberg track and field teams won five medals on the second and final day of the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships.

The men finished in fourth place, a two-place improvement from last winter, with 70 points, their most at the CC indoor meet since 2020. The women came in eighth.

Sophomore Avery McNulty won the gold medal in the high jump, matching her first-place finish at the CC outdoor meet last May. She cleared 5-5 on her second attempt to tie the school record she set earlier this year. McNulty (pictured above left) has earned silver or gold in all three of her CC championship meets.

Freshman Jaden Snow (pictured above right) captured a silver in the heptathlon, scoring 4131 points to shatter the previous school record of 3863. Out of the 12 heptathletes in the field, he finished in the top four in all seven events, winning the high jump and earning his most points in the 60-meter hurdles.

The open 60-meter hurdles were big events for the Mules too, as freshman Maya Richwine and senior Sam McDonough both earned bronzes. The medal was the first in McDonough's career.

Also earning bronze on the second day of the meet was the 4x400 relay team of junior Joshua Castro and freshmen Raam Ravishankar, David Seel and Christopher Short. Castro - who also moved from sixth to fifth on the all-time performance list in the 200 - and Short - who also entered the performance list in the 400 in eighth place - both won two bronzes with relay teams in the meet. Seel and Ravishankar placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 800.

Sophomore Mike Powel added a fifth-place finish in the shot put to his silver in the weight throw, and senior JJ Ramirez-Rojas matched his personal best to place seventh in the long jump.
