Men's Soccer Thwarted in Repeat Attempt

The Muhlenberg men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Johns Hopkins in the Centennial Conference championship game.

The Muhlenberg men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Johns Hopkins in the Centennial Conference championship game.

The Blue Jays (12-4-4) scored the lone goal of the game with 21:02 left in the first half and made it stand up to earn their 10th title, and their first since 2019. They receive the CC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Aiming to become the CC's first repeat champions since Haverford in 2015 and 2016, the Mules (13-4-2) had their chances, taking 13 shots to 16 for Johns Hopkins. Senior Brandin Osborne (pictured above) forced a tough save on a shot with just under 10 minutes to play, and the Hopkins defense prevented Muhlenberg from taking another shot.

Sophomore Ben Mulford recorded 6 saves.

The Mules are a solid candidate for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The selection show is scheduled for Monday at 2:00 on ncaa.com.
