Women's Golf Moves Up One Place
The Muhlenberg women's golf team came in fourth, a one-place improvement from last year, at the Centennial Conference Championships.
The first round of the scheduled two-day tournament was suspended in the middle of play on Saturday, so the CC decided to cancel the first round entirely and make the tournament an 18-hole event.
Senior Shaena Brusey led the Mules with a 91, one stroke better than she shot in her best round of the CC Championships last year.
Senior Nya Johnson and sophomore Carly Kramer each finished with a 95. Johnson made a team-leading five pars, while Kramer had four pars, including two on back-to-back holes, the par-3 sixth and the par-5 seventh, the longest hole on the course.
Sophomore Kaylin Foss, competing in her first CC Championships, also recorded back-to-back pars on the par-5 14th and the par-4 15th.
Senior Sarah Gwiazda made par on the 13th hole en route to shooting a 118.
Muhlenberg's team score of 378 easily outdistanced fifth-place McDaniel.
