Rubino Named to All-CC First Team
For the second time in his career, Muhlenberg senior Giovanni Rubino was named to the All-Centennial Conference men's basketball first team.
The All-CC selection was the third for Rubino, who earned second-team honors last season after making the first team in 2023.
Rubino is third in the CC in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game, and also ranks in the top five in the league in field-goal percentage (fifth at .494), free-throw percentage (first at .904), assists (second with 105), and assist/turnover ratio (third at 1.3). He led the Mules in all those categories as well as three-pointers (41) and steals (24) while finishing third in rebounds (107).
Rubino closed out his career with an epic 43-point performance at McDaniel in which he scored the most points by a CC player since 2004 and made the game-winning basket with five-tenths of a second remaining.
Rubino broke school record for free-throw percentage in a season and career (.881), shattering the previous career mark of .831 and making his final 40 attempts. He ranks fifth on Muhlenberg's all-time scoring list with 1,618 points.
