Women's Lacrosse Rolls in Final Non-Con Game
The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team scored the first eight goals and went on to a 21-7 win against Lycoming in its last non-conference game of the season.
The Mules (8-1), who have won 22 consecutive games against non-Centennial Conference foes, led 19-3 early in the fourth quarter en route to topping the 20-goal mark for the third time this season.
Senior Lily Seifert recorded 7 assists for the third time this season; of the nine 7-assist games in program history, Seifert has three this month. She moved into third place on the program's all-time list with 96 career assists.
Senior Nicole Steiner netted 6 goals on only eight shots to move into the top 10 on the Mules' all-time list with 144 career goals.
Seifert assisted on the first three goals of the game, one each to Steiner and juniors Jillian Kubikowski and Emily Vaughan. It was only 3-0 with less than five minutes to play in the first quarter before Muhlenberg erupted for five goals in a span of less than two minutes, including three goals in 36 seconds by Steiner and sophomores Abba Diglio and Ava Milia.
Steiner put in three straight goals for a natural hat trick spanning the second and third quarters.
Sophomore Ellie Armbruster (pictured above) netted back-to-back goals in the first half for her first career multiple-goal game. Freshman Ella Nagle notched her first two career goals, and senior Jordyn Kushel capped the scoring with her first goal of the season.
