School Record Broken in Fast Times Meet

The Muhlenberg track and field teams opened their season by sending a small contingent to Lehigh's Fast Times Before Finals Meet.

The Muhlenberg track and field teams opened their season by sending a small contingent to Lehigh's Fast Times Before Finals Meet.

The highlight of the meet was sophomore David Seel (pictured above right) winning the 1000 meters in 2:29.81, breaking the school record of 2:30.51 set by his event coach, Anthony Calantoni, in 2018.

Freshman Sean McNeil made a sensational debut, winning the triple jump and placing fifth in the high jump. His mark of 45-0¼ in the triple was the second-best in program history, less than four inches from the school record set in 2010.

Sophomore Bryce Rhodeman placed sixth in the 200 and ran 7.26 in the 60, coming within three-hundredths of a second of making the top 10 on the Mules' all-time performance list.

The women's team also had a pair of strong debuts. Ella Sarnitsky pole vaulted 9-2¼, sixth in the meet and sixth on the performance list. Junior Lauren Siesky, competing with the track and field team for the first time at Muhlenberg, ran 8.21 in the 60 - the second-best clocking in program history.

Junior Niki Matthews placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and junior Shanice Williams (pictured above left) came in sixth in the triple jump.
