Two Muhlenberg athletes - one at the start of his season and one at the end of his - were honored by the Centennial Conference.

Sophomore Marc Quarrie was named player of the week in baseball, and Giovanni Rubino was named men's basketball player of the week for the third time this season.

Quarrie went 5-for-8 with two doubles, a home run, two stolen bases, seven runs scored, and four RBI as the Mules split a season-opening doubleheader at Rutgers-Newark. He hit .625 in the two games with an OPS of 2.000. Quarrie was 3-for-5 in the opening game, belting a solo home run in the seventh inning of an 11-5 loss, and scored five runs in the nightcap, an 18-5 win, reaching base in six of his seven plate appearances.

Rubino wrote a Hollywood ending to his storied career, scoring 43 points and making the game-winning basket with 0.5 seconds left in the Mules' season-ending 82-81 win at McDaniel. The 43 points were one short of the school record, the most scored by a Muhlenberg player in a regulation game since 1971, and tied for the fifth most in Centennial Conference history. For the week, Rubino shot 56 percent (19-for-34) from the floor, 62 percent (8-for-13) from three-point land and a perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line, averaging 31.0 points and 3.0 assists in wins over the Green Terror and playoff-bound Ursinus.
