Muhlenberg senior Noel House placed fifth in the javelin at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, the first meet of the outdoor track and field season.

Muhlenberg senior Noel House placed fifth in the javelin at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, the first meet of the outdoor track and field season.

The meet was held at the same site in Myrtle Beach that the NCAA Championships will be contested at in late May.

House, seeking a second straight trip to the national meet, came out of the flights in sixth place and moved up in the standings by uncorking his best throw, 191-4, in the first round of finals. The mark qualified him for regionals.

Of the four athletes to finish ahead of House, two are from Division II and another is a two-time Division III national qualifier.
