Young Runners Lead Cross Country

The Muhlenberg cross country teams showcased their young talent at the Lehigh Invitational.

The Muhlenberg cross country teams showed off their young talent at the season-opening Lehigh Invitational, a meet dominated by Division I competition.

The women were led by senior Caiti Kinnear, who came in eighth among Division III runner and ran 17 seconds faster than last year in the same meet. Placing second and third for the Mules were freshmen Maggie Holderith and Ava Lundy.

Of the top six for the Muhlenberg men, three were freshmen and the other three were sophomores.  The top two finishers were freshmen Marc Sebastian Montalvo and David Seel.

Montalvo's 19:53 was the fastest clocking by a Mule freshman in a 6K at Lehigh since 2015.

Six of the seven Mules who had previously raced in this meet had lifetime bests for the 6K race.
