Men's Basketball Drops Home Finale
The Muhlenberg men's basketball team fell to Ursinus, 80-67, in its final home game of the season.
Despite the loss, the Mules (8-16, 7-10) remained a game ahead of Dickinson in the race for the final Centennial Conference playoff spot. They can clinch their second straight playoff berth on Saturday with a win at Gettysburg or a Dickinson loss to Ursinus.
The game was tied at 17-all midway through the first half before the playoff-bound Bears (13-11, 9-8) went on an 8-0 run to take a lead they would never relinquish. Ursinus was ahead by at least double digits for nearly the entire second half.
Senior Brandon Goldberg (pictured above) had a tremendous final game at Memorial Hall, netting a career-high 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. He also had 3 assists.
Junior Jayson Williams-Johnson finished with 14 points.
