Caamano Pins Way to Title
Muhlenberg men's wrestling senior Ricky Caamano pinned all three of his opponents to win the 133-pound title at Lycoming's Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Invitational.
The Mules sent a contingent of 13 wrestlers to the tournament, with eight winning at least one bout.
Caamano opened his tournament run with a pin of a Scranton wrestler who he also flattened earlier this season at home on Senior Night. In the semifinal, Caamano was up 11-1 in the third period when he pinned his opponent after reversing him.
The final was Caamano's shortest bout of the day, as he took his Lycoming opponent down twice in the first 45 seconds before pinning him. It was the second career tournament title for Caamano, who was the only wrestler in the tournament to pin all his opponents.
Junior Fletcher Goodman (pictured above) came in second at 184, recording two 15-0 technical falls before falling in the final to an opponent from the United States Military Academy Prep School.
Senior Keshon Davila, wrestling for the first time this season, placed third at 285, sandwiching a major decision and 10-7 decision around a loss to an Army Prep wrestler.
Freshman Jaziah Moore made his collegiate debut in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to pin his first opponent. Ahead 7-4 after one period, Moore's opponent chose the bottom for the second period, but Moore kept him down and pinned him.
