Four in a Row for Women's Lacrosse
A strong defensive effort paced the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team to a 14-6 win at Widener.
The Mules (4-0), playing their first road game of the season, led only 5-4 with 8:27 remaining in the second quarter but held the Pride (2-3) scoreless for almost two full quarters. By the time Widener scored next, Muhlenberg had a 12-4 lead and was well on its way to a 4-0 start for the third straight season.
Junior Emily Vaughan led a balanced offensive attack with 3 goals, connecting on all of her shots for her second career hat trick. Senior Nicole Steiner (pictured above), junior Jillian Kubikowski, sophomore Ava Mila and freshman Emma Youngling added a pair of goals apiece.
Vaughan and junior Rebecca Himelfarb each caused 3 turnovers, while junior Ellison Ervin made 7 saves. Widener had the same number of shots (7) as turnovers in the middle two quarters.
