Women's Lacrosse Draws Up Third Straight Win
The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team scored eight first-quarter goals for the second consecutive game and went on to a 19-5 win at Drew.
The Mules (3-0) were led offensively by the two-headed monster of sophomore Emma Youngling and senior Jillian Kubikowski.
Youngling scored a career-high 10 points on 6 goals and 4 assists, becoming the ninth different player in program history to reach double figures in points in a game - the first since 2018. Kubikowski added 9 points on 5 goals and 4 assists, matching the career high she set in the season-opening win at Moravian.
It's only the second time in program history that the Mules have had two players score at least 9 points in the same game. The other occasion was in a 20-15 win against Swarthmore in 2015.
Muhlenberg led 3-1 before Youngling scored three straight goals in a span of a little more than four minutes, kicking off a 7-0 run that extended the advantage to 10-1 early in the second quarter.
Youngling and/or Kubikowski were involved in every Mule goal from the fourth to the 18th, until freshman Julia Corradi assisted sophomore Ella Nagle for the final tally with 1:20 left in the game.
Sophomore Alyssa Hartnett netted 3 goals for her third conseuctive hat trick to start the season.
Senior Emily Vaughan filled the stat sheet with 2 goals, 3 caused turnovers, 4 draw controls and 5 ground balls, while junior Abba Diglio controlled 7 draws.
