McClaine Named Player of the Week
Muhlenberg junior Marcus McClaine was named Centennial Conference football defensive player of the week.
McClaine set up two of the three touchdowns in the Mules' 21-0 shutout of Montclair State. On the Red Hawks' sixth offensive play of the game, he intercepted a pass and returned it 42 yards to the 16. Muhlenberg was in the end zone four plays later. In the third quarter, McClaine blocked a punt that was returned to the 2-yard line, setting up a touchdown on the next play.
The safety also contributed to another interception by hitting the quarterback's arm on a third-quarter pass that was picked off by a teammate. He was part of a defense that held Montclair to only 184 total yards.
The shutout win improved the Mules' record to 7-3 - their 13th consecutive season with at least seven wins.
