Cicchetti Named Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Muhlenberg senior Sophia Cicchetti was named Centennial Conference softball player of the week.

Cicchetti hit .588 with eight runs scored, three RBIs and a .941 slugging percentage as Muhlenberg went 3-1 to clinch the fourth seed in the CC playoffs. She was 7-for-11 with six runs scored and four extra-base hits in the doubleheader sweep of McDaniel, breaking the school record for hits in a season, which had stood at 60 since 1999, tying her own school record for triples in a season (7) and game (2), breaking the school record for triples in a career (14) and tying the CC mark for stolen bases in a season (41).

For the season, Cicchetti leads the CC with a .477 batting average while also pacing the league in runs scored (49), hits (61), triples, slugging percentage (.680) and stolen bases. She hit .491 with an .800 slugging percentage in 16 CC games. Cicchetti ranks in the top 10 in Division III in both hits (fourth) and stolen bases (sixth).
