Men's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight
Ten different players scored goals as the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team rolled to its third straight win, 20-6 at home against DeSales.
The 20 goals were just one short of the school record. It was the seventh time in program history that the Mules (3-1) reached the 20-goal mark, and only the third time in the last 20 years.
Senior Nolan DiSora led Muhlenberg with 4 goals, while sophomore Patrick Crawley netted 3 for his first career hat trick. Sophomore Jack Bill recorded his third straight hat trick with 3 goals, including the 50th of his career.
Senior Tyler Kitchen and sophomores Daniel Friedel and Ryan Neal scored a pair of goals apiece.
The game was tied 2-2 more than 11 minutes into the game before the Mules closed out the first quarter by scoring four goals - by Neal, Friedel, senior Ben Falch (pictured above) and sophomore Liam Ledwith - in a span of a little more than two minutes.
Bill connected on his first goal 35 seconds into the second quarter, giving Muhlenberg a 7-2 lead with goals by seven different players.
It was 10-5 at halftime, and the defense locked the game down in the second half, holding the Bulldogs (0-4) scoreless for the first 26 minutes after the break.
Muhlenberg scored two goals after intercepting passes on attempted DeSales clears in the second half, the first by Kitchen after freshman Aidan Fairweather picked off a pass and the second by Bill after he plucked the ball out of the air.
Junior Justin Wyle closed out the scoring with his first career goal in the final minute of the game.
