Two Record Hat Tricks for Men's Lax
The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team erased a four-goal deficit before falling at DeSales, 11-8.
The Mules (1-3) dominated everywhere but on the scoreboard, rolling up a 59-29 advantage in shots.
The Bulldogs (1-2) won the opening faceoff and scored just 8 seconds into the game, setting the tone for a first quarter that ended with them holding a 4-1 lead.
After DeSales netted the first goal of the second quarter, Muhlenberg came storming back, with three goals by freshman Chase Kusko and one by junior Nolan DiSora tying the game before halftime.
Freshman Jack Bill scored six minutes into the second half to give the Mules their first lead of the game at 6-5. The Bulldogs responded, however, by scoring the next three goals in a span of 2:07 to take the lead for good.
In addition to Kusko recording his first career hat trick, senior Wyatt Malia notched his 11th, scoring 3 goals and adding a pair of assists. The five points moved him into fifth place on the program's all-time list with 113 points.
Sophomore Luke Schwartzberg and freshman Michael Chimics each picked up 4 ground balls for a defense that forced 21 turnovers. Junior Brendan Lavarra caused 3 turnovers.
