Field Hockey Playoff Bid Falls Short
In what amounted to a playoff game, the Muhlenberg field hockey team fell 1-0 at Dickinson in double overtime.
It was a "win and in" game, with the winner earning a Centennial Conference playoff berth and the other team missing out. The Red Devils (8-8, 6-4) earned the fourth seed for the playoffs, while the Mules (8-9, 4-6) fell one game shy.
Muhlenberg, once 1-5 in the CC put itself in position to play for a postseason berth by winning three consecutive CC games with its back against the wall.
The Mules were in a position to win at Dickinson despite a large deficit in shots thanks to the effort of freshman Maddie Schwartz, who made a career-high 9 saves.
Senior Katie Raab (pictured above) was one of four Muhlenberg seniors who played in their last game.
